Little Ballerinas Class – 30 mins:

From 2 years old.
(Must be at least 2 years old by the first class of term)
A Ballet class for preschoolers who love classical dance. Introducing children to the world of ballet through play based education, use of ribbons, props and games. They will learn:
Proper French ballet terminology and steps
Safe dance technique
Gentle dance based discipline
Team work/sharing/turn taking
Manners and ballet etiquette
Classes are fun and interactive providing a foundation for a lifelong love of ballet. All set to traditional classical ballet music.

Class Content & Learning Goals:
2 Year Olds (Beginner Level):
Classes aim to develop confidence, listening skills, manners, posture, basic ballet movements and some independence from parents in a class setting. Parental participation required until a child can demonstrate the above skills.
BASIC SKILLS COVERED: Demi Plie, Tendu, Saute, hand positionings, Ballet 1st feet, Ballet 5th arms.
3 Year Olds (Beginner and 3&4 Year Old):
Classes aim to further develop confidence and listening skills. Lining up, turn taking, ballet etiquette, further extension of ballet movements and French terminology. Parental participation only to settle a child into the class initially.
BASIC SKILLS COVERED: As for 2 year olds, plus sways, gallops, ballet 2nd feet and arms.
4 Year Olds (Beginner and 3&4 Year Olds):
Classes aim to further build on the above qualities as well as presentation and performance. Dancers learn to confidently answer terminology based questions, share ideas and take turns leading the group in exercises. No parental participation.
BASIC SKILLS COVERED: As for 2 and 3 year olds, plus ballet skips, passé position, basic echappe sauté, partner work and ballet 3rd position feet.

School Aged Classical Ballet – 30 mins or 45 mins:
Asia Pacific Dance Association Syllabus (APDA)
Ages 5 years plus.

A Classical Ballet + creative movement class for school aged children who love a traditional and structured style of dance. This is a "follow on" class suitable for those with dance experience as well as new students. This class focuses on safe dance technique and performance. Mid year, ballet students undertake an exam through APDA. This is a supported and encouraged experience, with a confidence building focus.

Classes are fun and interactive providing a foundation for a lifelong love of dance. Ballet classes are set to a mixture of traditional and pop style classical music.

Class Content & Learning Goals:
Suitable for new or experienced dancers. No parental participation. Dancers can line up when asked, stand still and focus well. Dancers are self-motivated and enjoy physical challenges.
BASIC SKILLS COVERED: Demi Plie, Saute, Tendu, Releve, dancing in turn out position, ballet port de bras, positions of the feet and gentle body conditioning/strengthening and flexibility exercises.

School Aged American Jazz Classes – 30 mins:
Asia Pacific Dance Association Syllabus (APDA)
Ages 5 Years Plus
A Jazz + creative movement class for school aged children who love a modern and upbeat style of dance. This is a "follow on" class suitable for those with dance experience as well as new students. This class focuses on safe dance technique and performance. Mid year, Jazz students undertake an exam through APDA. This is a supported and encouraged experience, with a confidence building focus.

Suitable for new or experienced dancers. No parental participation. Dancers can line up when asked, stand still and focus well. Jazz dancers are self-motivated and enjoy physical challenges.
BASIC SKILLS COVERED: Rhythm and musicality, hands on hips, head and shoulder isolations, jumping, running, safe landings through plie, mini combinations, impromptu and performance.
